Guest guest
Hi all. I am happy to report that I have felt better today than I have felt for weeks. Most of the stomach pain has vanished, I am not nauseated, the diarrhea is almost gone, and my head is not hurting as bad as it was. Thank God! I feel like I have been sick for weeks now, and it is so nice to feel a little better. Thank you all for your loving support and warm words. It truly does make a difference to know that someone cares and is thinking of you when you feel so badly. About the migraines: it seems like most of us who have always had migraines have experienced worse Migraines since getting Still's. I think I only read one reply that said their headaches were actually not as bad now. All I know is that since having Still's, I have had about 4 or 5, and twice went to the ER because I couldn't tolerate the pain anymore. If I would not have been home alone with Logan last night, I would have been making another trip to the ER for a shot of the medicine they always give me. I have asked my PCP and my Rheumy both about some kind of medicine that I could keep on hand to help when one hits, and each told me to ask the other. When I cornered up my PCP about it, he said that he couldn't give me anything that would help more than the pain meds I am already on. I asked him about Immitrex, (only Migraine med I knew about) and he said it works basically the same as Oxycontin and he didn't want to give me anything. I was able to get the ER doc to give me 10 ativan pills to take home last time I went, and that is one of the med's I tried last night. I took an Ativan, then 1 1/2 hours later took 2 Oxycodone 5 mg and then within a few minutes I was vomiting so neither one helped much. I finally was able to keep down some Tylenol 3 and that started relieving the pain somewhat after about an hour. I was in so much pain last night that I could barely open my eyes or speak, and it got so bad that I was tempted to call 911 just to get some help. For those of you who have never had a Migraine, you literally feel like your head is being exploded from the inside out in a long, drawn out, painful experience and you really do not believe you are going to live. I plan to once again speak to my Rheumy about this, and if she still will not prescribe something for me to keep on hand, I guess I will have to see another doctor about it. I don't know how many more of those I can live through. Anyway, thanks to all of you who responded, and I hope you all will find something that brings you relief with your migraines. They truly are horrible. Love and hugs....... Traci
