Commendations for Lynda and Murray and their hard work (see - http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/HIV_ADAP_Florida_2042_19820.shtml ) And condemnations to the Florida ADAP program (one would not be surprised that this is just typical efforts of a very sleazy governor , renowned for his Medicare fraud and no doubt smelling lucre)......condemnations for GSK, Roche, Pfizer, etc. for not bothering to be involved;...condemnations for pharma for doing essentially a no-loss/one-off, murdering to save ;...condemnations for pharma for their genocidal pricing;...condemnations for the Federal government for being pandering suck-ups and not having our backs and being negotiators for vastly lower drug prices that represents the needs of the people rather than their sinecures.Despite all those horrible challenges, FPC managed to wrest a life-saving victory for Florida ADAPs.How do we get at the root of pharma and government evil (state and fed)?This is not rhetorical! I think there are myriad ways (even as I watch the Egyptians with joy and no small measure of envy).Indeed, one way is through more public spending on clinical research. This is partly why I got so hot about the rather lame yet important first step in dumping of NCRR and development of NCATS. That can be a way in to developing meds that aren't linked to genocidal pricing policies....if we advocate for it.As an aside, did anyone see Hoffman's article, "Going Viral" in the 1/31/11 ed of the New Yorker?
