Hi, I'm going in to see Dr. Galpin on Tuesday. I am an ASD and I

want to try the nids protocol. Dr. Galpin did a basic immune panel.

I want to try Valtrex because I have reason to believe my problem is

an immune response to a virus. Are the doctors able to prescribe the

antivirals without specific knowledge of what viral connection

exists. I want to ask him to start Valtrex but I'm not sure if the

labs are going to show anything. I was tested for CMV and HHV6 but

he didn't test me for VZV, EBV, Measles, ect... Also, has anyone

ever heard of the black chicken pox? My mother said I had a real bad

case of it when I was about four. I have scars on my face from it.

I'm 31 years old. I'm starting to wonder if that was when things

went wrong.

Hi,

I put the whole 1/3 tab either in a cereal bar, between a soy ice sandwich or

some other soft cookie and my son chews it right up, no problem. KathyP

valtrex

Does anyone know a trick about getting the valtrex into a child? I

have tried many ways. Can anyone help please.

All three of my kids take Famvir, which tastes nasty if not swallowed

whole. One takes it crushed in Imagine foods rice chocolate pudding, one

crushed up in frosting and another one takes 1/2 a tablet in applesauce

(this took awhile to accomplish - at first I had to coat it with

applesauce and put it in the back of her tongue until she swallowed it).

The older kids did well in the beginning with a bite with the medicine in

it followed by a plain bite of frosting or pudding. Just be persistent

and bribery always seems to help. When my oldest was on Valtrex I

crushed it up and put it in his ice cream (not the real stuff, the

DariFree version).
