Guest guest
Alrighty then! I have finally made it to my six month mark. I weighed in at 284 lbs down from 371. For a total of 87 lbs lost! While I am very happy with the loss so far I was a " little " sad that I didn't make my goal of getting into the century club at my six month mark but the doc reminded me that I was only 13 lbs short of that. I asked him if he was happy with my loss so far and he said he thought I was doing great! I said " what about so and so who lost well over 100 lbs by her six month " he reminded me that we are all individual and thats just the way things go sometimes. As far as he was concerened I was right on target and he wasn't dissapointed at all. He is such a sweetheart! He hepled me to keep things into perspective and I really am greatful for what I have lost because I gotta tell you all that I feel GREAT!!! As far as my labs go I found out that I was a little anemic, so I have to up my iron. My calcium was also a little low so I need to take one more Citrical a day (I was taking 3) The one thing that did take me by surprise was that my album (sp?) was a little low so I need to get in more protein. WHAT?!?! I gave him the old " Doc, I'm eating TONS and TONS of protein! " speech and he said he believed me but he's just telling me what the labs show and they say I need a little more and that should help the weightloss too. I say to him " So, basically I need to eat MORE to lose weight? " He said " yes, more protein " . Hey I can do that! LOL I guess everything else looked OK because those are the only things he said needed changing. He said that I look great and sound great and he can tell that I have lots more energy! Which I do! I have been going to Curves for the last couple of months and I love it! I only weigh there and once a month and at the doc's office. I don't want to drive my self nuts with the scales! Oh I almost forgot! Yesterday I got brave and went for a ride with my hubby on his Suzuki Intruder 1500vl motorcycle! Good thing its a big bike! I squealed with delight as he zoomed around the block. He said he felt the bike had plenty of power for us the only thing was my tummy is still big and he had to sit further up on his seat to make up for it but that it was no big deal. I'm sure in six months or so that won't be a problem anymore I have stopped taking motrin for the pain in my knee's and back because there isn't anymore pain! I can eat anything but I am trying to watch the carbs for the first year or so. That is not to say that I don't indulge once in a while on carbs and or sweets. But I don't seem to want them very often at all. However, I was a baaaad girl on Halloween! lol I feel truly, truly blessed for the gifts I have recieved in the past six months since surgery and all I can say is...THE DS ROCKS!!!! Good luck and much success to all you pre-ops! Don't give up because the DS is worth every bit of fight you got in you!!!
