Erez,I think the main point is that I would NEVER do coherence/synchrony, symmetry (2C Alpha Beta Symmetry) or assessment WITHOUT linked ears.  There is no reason you could NOT use it for most any 2-channel design.  It won't hurt (or probably help much) using for something like C3/A1/g/C4/A2 2C Beta SMR, where you are training different patterns on the two sides.

Generally you WANT to see alpha blocking with eyes open anywhere.  Remember that, when looking at eyes-closed readings, you want to see the alpha levels--especially around 10Hz--to be clearly higher than the rest of the EEG.  This is most important in the parietal and occipital sites, where alpha (8-12 Hz) should ideally be 1.5-2.5 times greater than theta (4-8 Hz).  There it should block down to around even with theta (or slightly below) with eyes open. Looking at the EEG pattern in the HIstograms, you may see alpha levels drop 30-50% with eyes open but NOT be significantly higher than theta with eyes closed.  In that case, you probably want to train to increase alpha or alpha synchrony parietally--and in a situation like you describe, probably speed up the alpha.

as far as i understood link ears is better while doing assessment, training coherence and synchrony

the old protocol as i look at the old manual for the tlc use a1a2 as reference for many protocols- i wonder if for ex. i use f3a1 f4a2 training f3a1 15-23 f4a2 8-12- sould i expect that the effect of alpha at the right and the effect of beta at the left will be stronger

then training the same protocol with link ears?

2. while doing assessment for my last client i found that there is very slow alpha all over. her alpha = 6-12hz . at many site the alpha block 30-5-% at 6-8hz ,8-10hz and 10-12hz- same pattern at the Parietals

at ceveral sites the alpha block strongly block at 8-10hz i wonder what is the meaning of that (8-10 block strongly at t3-t4 and also at p3-p4)
