Guest guest
Hey folks -My doctor recently suggested I give Testim (testosterone gel) a try. I have been feeling really draggy and tired all summer so he ordered a bunch of blood tests. He discovered that I had a respiratory infection and low testosterone. We've treated the infection and I am feeling much more like myself. But, I'm wondering whether to give the testosterone a try. I started taking prozac this year and that has been great for my mood, which tends to be anxious and on the depressed side. I read that testosterone may help with those same symptoms. Should I stop taking prozac while I try the testosterone? I have a normal libido (though lower on prozac), normal beard and all that stuff. But I tend to be passive and anxoius (timid even), and my whole life my body stubbornly resists building muscle - I can faithfully go to the gym for months, and my muscles get harder under the skin but there's no visible increase in muscle mass or definition. Maybe I've always tended toward low testosterone? Anyway my doctor said to get the respiratory infection cleared up, and then if I was still dragging I could try the testosterone. I would just like to hear people's thoughts/opinions/experiences. I hear horror stories about side effects ranging from abnormal aggressiveness to cancer. THANKS!
