, I wonder whether what puzzled the doctors is that most people think that type of laser scanner doesn't do much permanent damage unless one is exposed for a long time.

I'm not a doctor and won't pretend to play one here, but it didn't take much of a search of the internet to make me wonder whether the rostral anterior cingulate was somehow affected as a result of something triggered in the occipitals...that part of the cingulate seems like it aligns with what you're describing from the outside.

,

I work with the " Photonic Stimulator, " which is essentially an infra-red

flashlight, made by OchsLabs, Ic, (the folks who make the LENS). Amongst the

related publications that summarize research done by people other than OchLabs,

there is some information regarding the use of infra-red light to heal laser

wounds to the eyes of military personnel. So I wonder whether your son's friend

might benefit from infra-red exposure. I have, myself, used very brief

exposures of this device over my eyes, as I have some retinal issues that I am

trying to heal. So far, so good. But like most of these frontier techniques, I

think you're always holding your breath and hoping that your judgement is

correct. Eyes are pretty high stakes!

You may be able to help with the pain issues through neurofeedback, while,

hopefully, the eyes will repair. Or if you want to know more about the Photonic

Stimulator, you can contact OchsLabs, Inc. at (707)823-6225. They do offer the

device with a monthly rental option.

Hope this helps,
