Guest guest
My boy is new to the diagnosis of selective IgA deficient..although like all of you...I kept saying all along that there was something more to all of these infections-he is now 8. , we have moved to a different state and are now going to a new Allergy/Asthma/Immunologist for his treatments. Here is my question--Byran has had a sinus infection since Novemmber...2 rounds of Omnicef that kinda cleared it up but he still had yellow mucus in his chest coming up. I called and this new Doc prescribed Prednisolone. Byran got better but after about 1 1/2 weeks, yellow nose/chest came back and this time he was put on 2 rounds of Zithromax. While on Zithromax his nose became stuffy and yellow mucus in his nose and chest began again. I Called Doc and he prescribed Prednisolone again. What I also question is is this medication going to clear up his infection or just help with the inflammation? I was hoping someone could help me out with understanding if this is the route that your children go to when the antibiotic doesn't clear up the infection? My lack of understanding medications needs to improve and I am trying my best to stay on top of it all. Thanks for any help you can offer.
