Guest guest
I finally broke down and went to see a hand specialist after dealing with this hurting wrist of mine for 5 month. I should have known the answer before I went,,,surgery. I am not willing to accept that even though the pain and the swelling is above my pain tolerance. I used my scenar on it, iced it, used hot wax and ice in combination, magnets and every other trick I know. My doctor injected it with something...a natural product,,no steroids. But this does not respond to anything. Seems to me that there should be something I can do to cure this without surgery. I just don't know what I have it in a splint. And to make matters really bad it is my right hand. Can anyone offer some suggestions pertaining to this particular dilemma. It has nothing to do with carpal tunnel The diagnoses is De Quervain's Stenosing Tenosynovitis And from what I learned from Google it is an inflammation and swelling of the tendons in the dorsal compartment of the wrist. Right above the thumb. I pasted an image below but am not sure if it will show on . Thank you so very much Love and Light Christel
Guest guest
Thanks for the response Saul and Donna. I will give it a shot. Actually have some DMSO but did not think it would work on inflamed and swollen tendons Christel
Guest guest
Christel, For a couple of years my husband suffered with severe tennis elbow, to the point of not even being able to sleep well at night without pain. I got a newsletter from Dr Kim about the cause of this. Stabilize the wrist was the recommendation. He did purchase a wrist brace and after a couple of months, no pain at all. This was about a yr ago and still no problems and he hasn't worn the brace in months. I know this is not your problem but maybe you could contact him. Here's his web address for contact. _http://drbenkim.com/_ (http://drbenkim.com/) Good luck, Edith In a message dated 11/27/2006 4:40:54 P.M. Guest guest
Dear Christel, There is a product my naturopath gave me a long time ago for tendons, called Ligatend. It is worth a try. Guest guest
DMSO, but it will make you stink. ImmuCell Serrapeptase CMO I would try one or all of these, in the order in which they are listed and go from there. Some EFT might be in order. At any rate it is free and if it doesn't work you haven't lost anything except some time. Guest guest
Christel, Look up Dr. Alan Pressman in NYC. (drpressman.com) He deals with a lot of musculoskeletal issues and is a master at what he does. Guest guest
Christel, I had that diagnosis when I was young and stupid and believed in the Allopathic medical system and of course, I was rewarded with a shot of steroid. Ten years later I was in Massage school and learned that it is basically inflamation of the tendon. You may try adding to what you have already tried,a deep stripping of the forearm muscles. If you follow your tendon up your arm to the belly of the muscle...and palpate deeply with your opposite thumb...you will probably feels some very tender spots.I would try pressing deeply into them until you feel them release. I'm speaking to the most muscular area just beneath the bend of your elbow.drawing a line straight up from your thumb. There are other causes for inflamation but often this kind of trigger point massage can release the tendon...Sincerely, Christelti@... wrote: I finally broke down and went to see a hand specialist after dealing with this hurting wrist of mine for 5 month. Guest guest
If you have a magnetic pulser, use that. People have reported positive results using it, but you have to leave it on for 30 minutes or so. Probably have to use it regularly, too. gail- -- In oxyplus , Christelti@... wrote: > > I finally broke down and went to see a hand specialist after dealing with > this hurting wrist of mine for 5 month. > I should have known the answer before I went,,,surgery. > I am not willing to accept that even though the pain and the swelling is > above my pain tolerance.
