Guest guest
I am just wondering for those of you who have had migraines even before Still's- how many of you have experienced worsening migraines since becoming ill with Still's? I had experienced several bad migraines before being dx with Still's, but since being sick, every migraine I have had has been absolutely horrible! I am just wondering if it is just me, or is there maybe a connection to all this? I am currently recovering from a bad one; have had a headache for about the whole week, then today it kept getting worse and worse until I was vomiting and to the point of pain that you consider getting out the shot gun and just ending it all. Thankfully, I was finally able to keep down some pain reliever long enough that it is now back to a tolerable level of pain. Have any of you had these severely painful Migraines since Still's? Love and hugs...... Traci
Guest guest
Traci, I never had migraines before the STills, when I had a headache, I usually ended up in the hospital having brain surgery for my hydrocephalus. For me, having headaches is a major problem. If I get to the point of vomiting or have one for too long I need to go to the hospital and have a CAT scan at 3-4 grand. Since I have been on the MTX and had STills I have major headache issues. I have recently had them for the past 2 weeks on and off. My doctor prescribed MIgrin A capsules, which work sometimes but at other times only the percocet works. Guest guest
Hi Traci, I had migraines before Stills and still have them.. During the process of finding out the diagnosis of Stills, one of the dr's I was sent to was the Neurologist. They put me on Topomax, 50 mgs a night. This has helped me a lot. I still get the migraines, but not as bad or as much as I used to. I used to get them either daily or three to four times a week. Now it maybe once a month or every other month.. and not to the extreme they were. Please try and go see a dr and see what they have to say. I am just telling you what has worked for me. But check with the dr and see what they can do to help you. You have been through alot these last few month.. I send lots of love and Hugs your way.. I will not be making it to Vegas this year.. I wish I could go, but money and my body isn't going to let me.. I have an appointment in a few with the dr and will post again to let you all know how it goes.. Love to all.. Guest guest
Traci, mine have gotten more frequent over the years with Stills but are not triggered from food but from stressful situations. I do not get the auras either or the vision problems but very much sick and not able to even move. I had the whole work up with brain scans etc. a few years back and my doctor prescribed the Neurontin daily. I no longer have the daily headaches and the migraines are less frequent. Imatrex works for me but only in the spray form because of the nausea. You know I live 30 miles down a windy mountain road for the nearest hospital so have to have something that works at home if the doctor office is closed. I hope any of my sharing helps. I know you have been sick lately and that may be a contributing factor. Guest guest
Traci, I'm sorry that you are feeling so awful. I have had the opposite effect with Stills. My migraines were a lot worse before I came down with this lovely thing. However, there may be other factors at work for me. I used to get my migraines at that time of the month. Menopause and the onset of Stills coincided, and so I get very few migraines now, and they are all controllable with just Excedrin. Unfortunately I can't always take Excedrin (depending on what other meds I am on at the time. Excedrin has aspirin in it and that doesn't always work together) and Tylenol doesn't do much. Hope you recover soon. In the meantime stay in a cool, dark room, with as little sound as you can deal with. Guest guest
Hi Traci, Judy here, I have had migraines since I was a little girl. Spent most of my early years (teens) hang over the tiolet at least once a week. (My 18 yr old daughter also has had them since 14 yrs.) But I must say they have been better since the Still's. Don't know if it is all the medications or what but I'm not complaining. Have you tried Imtrex? I have been using it since it came out. However, only the injection form works for me. Sorry this is so late I am behind on reading the posts. Wishing you well Judy, Collegeville, PA Have any of you had these severely painful > Migraines since Still's? > > Love and hugs......
