Guest guest
I had to come under another address as my original posting address is not going through. Devin had clearly given wrong information about CTI's Algae and found and old sabatoge site to misinform the forum. I had never been asked privately to address any misinformation so I will give the information here. The following are the actual tests conducted on Each batch of Algae by Celltech. 1. Bacterial analysis for E. Coli, coliform, aerobic count and yeast. (40 to 50 times per batch)2.Heavy metals assay for lead, cadmium and mercury 3.Pesticide assay for all pesticides (5 times every harvest) 4. Toxicology analysis; A.enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) for microcustin (every batch) b. protein Phosphatase 2A Inhibition Assay for microcystin (every batch)c. anticholinesterase assay for anatoxin-a d. bioassay;foranatoxin-a and saxitoxin e. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for saxitoxins to corroborate bioassay as needed (every batch)F. High performance liquid Chromatography (HPLC) for pigment analysis to measure the quality of chlorophyll by looking for the level of chlorophyll break-down products. FOUR different independant labs conduct the testing for CellTech, including the university labs of two of the leading algal toxicologists in the country. Dr. PHD, a senior scientist at woods Hole oceanographic Institute, and Dr. Wayne Carmichael,PHD, a professor of aquatic biology at State University. They both are quoted in a magazine article not only saying this algae is free of ANY algal toxins and are so confident in the product they take it themselves. One of the DAN Doctor's " right hand man " has been taking cellTech products for 10 years.(confirmed fact by me from direct communication)Not only does distribution go internationally but also to CANADA. You can always tell a pretty good product if accepted by Canada as their laws are much stricter than the USA. However the Algaculture standards are met here, they are certified organic, and the equipment used for testing is FDA approved. I never have seen another whole food product that goes through vigorous testing as this one does.In fact THE OPTIMAL HEALTH JOURNAL is a prestigious publication that reports on the latest breakthroughs in nutritional research. Published Article August 1998 was research from McGill University,Boston University,The University of New Mexico,The Royal Memorial Hospital in Montreal, The research Institiute of Oncology in Belarus, Russia along with 35 additional scientific and medical references. CellTech's algae is commonly used in Scientific research, because the researchers ,including Oregon State university is aware of the Quality Assurance. Woodson Tenent Labs back in 1983 looked at the nine amino acid and compared them to the optimal profile set by the FOOD and Nutrition Council 1980. They compared the activated fatty acid and found the composition very similiar to Breast milk. What makes logical sense that if a program has been so successful with so many people including the autistic community, then obviously it cant be toxic. If Canada had difficulty with these products, It would not be accepted to distribute there, and on top of that I have a group of Canadians including An MD. on my nutritional research project. What I dont understand, is why I have still not received respect with my knowledge and experience to INQUIRE on allegations if personell here have a lack of expertise in this area. I understand the originator of this site promotes his product, but Im Not downing the Enzyme product at all.. In fact I dont have any information on its components at all. I have no idea what additives are there and what quality assurance testing it goes through. I dont know if it is distributed in Canada. All I say, is CTI's program is a great addition to " other " enzymes, because our children need more then just enzymes, we all do. I hope my original e-mail can once again get through on this message board, and we all work together to give parents options to make informed decisions. Devin, I sent your post to the Public relations department at CellTech. They are so wonderful. They are more than happy to send you the needed information to educate you on who they are and what they are all about. And Just to clarify, The Oregon and Herald News No.19,849 has the Toxic algae in Diamond Lake and Not Lake Klamath. and the algae is ANABAENA flos-aquae NOT APHANIZOMENON flos-aquae..Sincerely Joni M.
