Thank you, ((((((((Chris))))))))))

I feel like it's up to me to figure out the meds for him, and I don't

feel qualified to do that. On the other hand, I'm not sure I trust

doctors to make good choices either. Some dispense medication like

they are M & Ms. After having had a stroke and heart damage from meds,

I'm pretty wary of them all. I really appreciate your input. Maybe

I'm in too much of a hurry for it to work. He's only been on the 40

mg dosage for 2 weeks. He really needs some relief though. We are

really struggling here. His OCD is ruling his life and he is

depressed from coping, which makes me depressed because my guy is

suffering. Just getting him dressed is difficult for now. It seems

like the longer this is going on, the more it is feeding off of itself

and perpetuating. I will try to be patient though. Thanks again.

BJ, I try to " hang in " and wait things out but sometimes you have to

go with your gut instinct too so far as staying on a dosage. Like

you, I'd be hesitant to increase it any more though if he seems worse

now. Ugh, waiting just to see if something works really is hard!!

No, to the PANDAS. He hasn't been exposed to strep for years though.

Although when he first became very symptomatic with OCD, he had been

really sick with strep. . . And couldn't get rid of it. He had to go

through 3 different types of antibiotics, with higher and higher doses

to make it go away. It took months to finally get a good test result

back. I hadn't given it too much thought though because OCD runs in

my husband's family. They all have it, so I always figured with our

son it was genetic. Plus our son showed signs of it at a very young

age. But, I've always wondered if his bad bout with strep could have

made it worse somehow. It's so confusing.

beware you may not know if he's been exposed and he may never catch it

but up go those symptoms - maybe re-test his levels if you have past

ones to compare and do some strong anti-biotics to see if you get

results - won't hurt and would be great if it helps
