Guest guest Posted December 4, 2006 Report Share Posted December 4, 2006 The Beckett Waiver was originally intended to allow children to be taken care of at home that without the financial help of the state would have to be institutionalized. Some states stick very strictly to that criteria. I live in Illinois and they stick to that criteria very closely. Since my daughter does not have a condition that would require her to be institutionalized, she does not qualify. I know some people have qualified without meeting that criteria in other states.
