Guest guest
Poor baby! Not to cause you any alarm - Although my daughter's began several days pre-infusion and was viral, many of the mom's here have spoke of infusion related meningitis. Fever and severe headache go hand and hand with this. If she is not significantly better by a.m., I would recommend Reagon see her dr or er. I hope it's not and I hope she had a good night....hugs to you and you both are in our thoughts. Please keep us posted! Motrin helped right away with past SCIG headaches but today it isn't phasing it. She was perfectly fine before the infusion..so I don't think she has something else going on. I don't know why this time her reaction was worse? Any one have any ideas??? Thanks! Becki Reagon 5 yrs. Guest guest
Becki - she may have picked up something where she gets the scig? Is that in a clinic or office? Or there might have been an infection already onboard and when it came into contact with the antibodies it acted up. How long do they pump the medicine in? I'd be hard pressed to relate it to the scig. Guest guest
Becki - Though it is very rare to have such a SCIG reaction, it is not impossible. There is another mom in the group whose kids did not react well...migraines, I think. Just wondering what brand Reagon is using...and if there is a chance that you can do this at home... I would certainly keep a log of her reactions/illnesses and the SCIG (brands, rate, and all) so you can figure out the cause. We do this with my almost 5 year old, also on SCIG at home, and it helps. Take care, mom to CVIDer
