Guest guest
a trip to the ER? really, not a vacation at all!!LOL So, though we have had PIDs for a long while around here, we have never had a gaping head wound requiring stitches. Just wondering if, with the CVID, there is anything different to do or watch for regarding the injury at all. the dr who treated him(we were out of town), seemed to know his stuff about the stitching.......exactly what to use to make the scar less visible(its in the middle of his forehead) and was very good to Brennan and did a nice job, but when I asked him this question.....he was like.......uh, CVID? which is.........and then I said the actual whole four words for it, and he was like, OH!! well, I guess we could put him on antibiotics just to be sure..... so, I guess I just felt like he wasnt quite confident that he knew what to do with Brennan, and of course being the weekend the drs he sees are out, I feel a little nervous about it getting infected, even though we are washing it with antibacterial soap, using triple antibiotic ointment once a day or if it gets wet or dirty, and keeping it covered...... am I being overly concerned--is there anything I am missing? FUNNY-b/c we werent sure WHAT(at the time) he had cut his head on, my DH told me to be sure to ask if he might need a tetanus shot, in case it was a nail or screw(he was on a swingset). So on the way to the hospital, Brennan asked me how the dr could give him a " tennis shoe shot " .........LOL poor kid, I cant imagine what was going on in his head.
