Guest guest
Boy do I know how to have fun on a Friday night - working out, of course! Marina and I warmed up with Tae Bo Total Basic #2. I must say I think this is my favorite Tae Bo Basic workout I've done to date, and I'd say I've done five or six of 'em. The moves are basic, sure, but my heart rate was up the whole time and I rather regret that I didn't have my heart rate monitor on. It went by way too fast, and I was bummed it was over. One small highlight was doing back kicks over and over again on one leg, then another series on the other leg. I thought this was a great way to work on form and I don't often do back kicks over and over like that in most of my kickbox workouts. wears a baseball cap on backwards in this one, and the music is really good! We watched and did some of the tutorial from Angie ' Kettlebell Bootcamp, but man, this dvd is NOT for beginners, in spite of what the dvd slipcover says, saying it's for all levels! The tutorial alone was a good workout, mostly going over quite a few swing variations, and some of the moves didn't look safe and seemed " off " to me, such as a swing with a hamstring curl. Is this Russian Kettlebells meet Hi/Lo? I dunno.. and Angie's form didn't look so good, like she was throwing her back out on the swings. Her demonstrator though, had very good form. So I will save Angle's workout for when I have more experience. We went over the same moves I did on Thursday wtih Pavel <swoon> from Enter the Kettlebell and did them on our own. I will stick with these for awhile until I feel I'm good at them. You get such a good workout in a short period of time with these! Donna, I can see why you might hesitate to do them though, as my back is a little tight from doing these exercises. Not necessarily in a bad way, I'm strengthening my back and core by doing these, but we ended the night with the 50 minute Practice for the Spine from Yoga Complete for Every Body just to stretch and keep things supple. Today Tressia is coming over and we will do another Tae Bo Basic and also PiYo, a pilates yoga fusion class from Chalene . I've done this workout twice and really like it! Tomorrow I get to teach Turbo Kick with a broken toe. Oh joy..but I miss my class and it's fun to have all the new people there! Cheers!
