Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Since I switched up the Jillian rotation to have two days "on" one day "off" I had to make some re-arrangements as today's workout was scheduled to be No More Trouble Zones, but tomorrow's workout is quick trouble zones and Shred 1. Quick Trouble Zones is made up from NMTZ, so I didn't want to do THAT much repeating. So, I tried Jackie Warner's Power Circuit Training from Exercise TV. It was ok. I'm not sure if I would run out and get it unless it was at a very good price. I prefer Jillian's workouts to this one. Like Jillian, Jackie has this set up in "circuits" - there were 8 or 9 circuits. In each circuit you do 3 exercises for a particular body part - then you do all three exercises in one final set. I think these were the circuits: Circuit 1 - Quads Circuit 2 - Hamstrings Circuit 3 - Glutes Circuit 4 - Chest Circuit 5 - Back Circuits 6 - Arms (triceps, biceps, shoulders) Circuit 7 - upper abs Circuit 8 - lower abs Circuit 9 - obliques Overall Jackie moves at a quick pace - so if you plan to follow her it would be difficult to use heavy weights. I tended to go more at my own pace and used moderate weights - some areas I could have gone heavier with and if I do this one again I will. The workout overall had a 'rushed" feel to it. I also felt that having three ab circuits was overkill - but that is just a preference of mine - I don't like a lot of 'traditional" ab work. I would have liked to see more "core" work like planks etc. there were also no push-ups!! So, I think this is one I can skip and just do on exercise Tv when the mood strikes! I did a recorded classical stretch afterwards and that felt good. And, today, I did do my push-up circuit - Five Sets of push-ups (15-20 reps per set), in between push-up sets I did a lower body exercise and pull-downs. Hope everyone has a good Sunday evening. I'm off work tomorrow so it is really nice to have an extra day~ Tomorrow's workout is scheduled to be Shred # 1 PLUS Quick Trouble Zones. I think I'll make it through but will likely not add anything on other than some stretching (most likely on my own!) as i will probably sleep a little later (for me!) and this combo should kick my butt sufficiently without the need for an add on. Take care, Donna
