This morning I wanted to do Austin's Power Kickboxing tape. It has two 20 minute workouts. I did the first which was eh. More intense than I had expected which was fine. I didn't like it a ton though because she goes from very intense (a lot of lower body & jump roping) right to practically standing still often and that was very uncomfortable and probably not really safe from a cardio perspective. I didn't have a ton of time either. The warmup was very aggressive I thought, lots of jump rope and regular, not half squats, like a workout would have, then you go right to standing still practically learning punches. With that and the cool-down which I mostly skipped because I wanted to do the 2nd workout, it was actually about 30 minutes, with the main workout 20! I had 40 minutes, not close to an hour! I started the 2nd workout anyway but the first had had a lot of 's typical lousy cueing and I decided I couldn't put up with it for what is supposed to a more intense, more complicated workout. The first was mostly drills but she doesn't cue changes well and like I said, there was a lot of abruptness I did not like. I think I'm going to get rid of this. I have a lot of kickboxing I like a lot better and the very high to very low intensity with nothing in between really bothers me (my internal red flag was waving and I'm trying very hard to respect it more often, I get into trouble when I don't). It is on VHS too and I can use the room on my shelf!

I really needed more of a workout though. We had a bad night/lousy morning with and I'm trying to get myself more peaceful. So I put on Tamilee I Want That Body DVD and chose the I Want Those Buns workout (the first one) because it is familiar, no choreography and tough. That was a good choice, though her darn front lunge, kick with the other leg, back lunge with the other leg do it again reverse legs combination has always messed me up and still does. There's nothing wrong with it, I think my balance, which was WAY off today is more likely the problem. This definitely did the trick, I love this DVD, though I could have used more of a stretch because hers is extremely rushed. I don't have time for it so maybe later I will do some (but I doubt it).

Gotta run to errands and work.
