Yesterday I did Kickbox Underground with Janis Saffell and Guillermo Gomez. I only did the 4 cardio segments which average between 6-7 minutes a piece. I also did at least ten flights of stairs walked a mile and had a crazy 40 minute cleaning marathon to prep for my friend coming over to pick up her cat. Not 5 minutes into the workout, I realized I already own this one. I don't know if its on DVD or VHS. Isn't that sad? I keep doing this! Thankfully it was a rental. Its a pretty good mid-line workout with Mid-line choreography not too hard but challenging enough to keep you focused. The music is standard stuff and both instructors look like they just walked off the set of their other videos. The promo shots are actually used ON their other videos. Today I busted my butt rearranging the very heavy furniture in our den and hanging five huge framed posters in prep for our impromptu New Years eve get together. I had to make a very crowded room that usually seats two seat six since the downstairs is still very torn up. I sat down for about five minutes and then got to the business of working out with Spreen's Box and Flow. LOVED it. The cardio section itself is only 25 minutes following a 9 minute warm-up. The cool down is 17 minutes which I find funny because that's almost the whole cardio time. I only did about 5 minutes of cool down because I ran out of time. Classic , great cueing, high energy, good humor. She rotates between combos and drills and throws in body blows and elbow strikes which I love. They are great effective moves that most KB workouts ignore. The music and set left a lot to be desired, but Kim makes up for it. I think this have been shot sometime ago as her hair is blonder, she looks younger and the filming is from another era. A minor complaint would be form on a few moves. She doesn't pivot at all during certain punches that I think need it. Power from the hip people, not the shoulders. Seriously need to get to bed! ;-) a
