On Facebook through a mutual coworker I met another coworker who is also a vidiot!  I often post open slots for Studio LouLou on Facebook and for once, someone actually replied!  is in fantastic shape and has

done P90X and other Tony Horton/Beachbody workouts over the past 2+ years and could

totally be in a Beachbody infomercial.  He looks phenomenal!I chose a virgin workout for today, Power's Insight Yoga.  We did the first 2 flow practices and the shavasna, which took around 90 minutes.

It takes place in a brick walled studio with maybe 8 or so practitioners, somewhat of a granola crowd.  The first flow practice wasn't too strenuous.  What was different about it is that you do chataranga pushups 4 times before going into updog then downdog, and she emphasized lower back strengtheners by laying on your tummy, lifting up chest off the matt, both legs extended out, then opening and closing them.  There were lots of chair poses, mountain poses, and forward folds, and overall I felt good!  I was impressed that could do the forward splits.  We said our namastes at the end standing, but before we knew it the next flow started..

This one had more traditional vinyasas, warrior poses and camel poses.  I jammed/rebroke my big right toe doing something and I had to modify greatly and will have to find someone to teach my class tomorrow.  I hate it when this happens!  I'll RICE it today.

The shavasana was on a separate part of the video which I thought was weird and is my only critique.  Why would shavasna be an add on?  It's supposedly the most important part of the practice!  There was some guided breathing meditation at first and then you lay listening ot Om-mani-pad-me-hom, which was nice.  I hadn't done that since I was last at temple.

I hope to try the other 2 yin yoga practices and meditation session from this dvd sometime today.I wouldn't say this dvd is a must have, but I liked it because it was different and had Buddhist inferences throughout, and indeed there is Buddhist statuary and gongs in the room.

Hope everyone has a great weekend of workouts lined up!Sut Nam,
