Guest guest
I did Jillian's Cardio Kickbox this morning. It is only 25 minutes and I'm tight on time so it was perfect! I haven't done this in a long time and I remembered it kicking my butt last time but this time it was very doable so despite feeling like I'm still recovering I think I'm seeing light that I'm getting back near where I was last spring. This is a fast-paced drills-based cardio workout. The most complicated it gets is a front kick/back kick alternating legs combination, definitely right for where I am these days! This morning was a good morning with , his tutor helped us develop a good plan and he seems to be buying into it, we'll see how it goes. Anyway, about the workout, this is NOT for beginners. She does not teach anything, you're expected to know how to do the kicks and punches (no form pointers at all, she does the entire workout) and she works you hard right from the warm-up all the way to the stretch. It used to bug me to pieces that at the end one of the backgrounders says something like "that's it?" and she gets all huffy acting and says okay then, 30 jump rope, 30 jumping jacks and 10 pushups (I think that was it anyway). I thought before it seemed too scripted but today it seemed to fit okay. It didn't bother me anyway so that is good. I burned 160 calories in this 25 minute workout and my heart rate maxed at 168 with 139 being my average! 139 is huge for me for an average and I was in my zone for over 11 minutes (most of the rest of the time I was way high). The workout felt great and now I'm off to get new glasses (hooray, I'll be able to see), meet a coordinator for a new WW AT WORK meeting I'm starting next week and go do another WW meeting (then take Miriam to dance and eventually watch Project Runway tonight)! Guest guest
I like this one too! Reminds me of a PE class! Good observation that she doesn't teach you anything, that you are expected to know it already.
