Today I am so happy. Somehow I managed to lose 3.2 pounds this week, that hasn't happened for awhile. I had wanted to be in the 180's by New Year's but I have only been losing about a pound a week lately so I figured it would be the end of the month but I made it. Today I weighed in at 189.4 I had started at 224 on Sept. 1 so that is a total of 34.6 pounds lost. I haven't even been exercising like I should due to illness but I have had my eating under control. I am doing the happy dance now.

LOL!!! Thanks a ton! I don't have to bake anything else until Sunday and my weigh in day is Saturday so I'm purposely not baking again until at least Saturday! Ah, the games we play!! :-)

Sorry I haven't posted much lately but I am trying to spend less time on the computer. Since yesterday was a holiday I went ahead and took today off also so I slept in a little later. I hate these furloughs pay wise but I least I get 3 extra days off every month. I did weigh in today but I stayed exactly the same at 183.8. This is the first time ever that I didn't lose any weight and I really don't like this feeling. I am going to be bummed out all week now. My eating is good for the most part, I did have one really bad meal this week, I guess that's what it is. I also need to pick up the exercise. I have been working out, but I need to do more. I will try harder this week, I have to see a loss next Tuesday or I will be really angry with myself. Have a great day everyone.

HI ,

Try not to worry about what the scale says - some weeks staying the same is what your body wants to do. If you had a 'bad" meal there could be some water retention that could account for the scale not moving. Give it a week or two before getting upset over it. Also, if you feel that you may be "slipping" keep a food diary for a couple of days to see what might be going on that is not clear up front. I "discovered" I was probably eating about 300-400 extra calories a day by grabbing a few handfuls of chocolate chips here and there. I read the package and realized 1 TABLESPOON is a serving and has 70 calories. So, there, I can still eat it - but not 4 serving sizes! :)

Thanks Darcy. I just wish I could love exercise the way you all do. I do it more cause I have to, like a chore that needs done but I don't love it, not yet anyways, maybe someday. I will do better this week and hopefully have a loss next week. It is much easier though knowing that you all are here with me, giving me ideas. I am really looking forward to my part for my BOSU showing up, I watched the video and it does look fun.

Chin up , you are in it for the long haul!! I doubt one meal did it to you... Sometimes our bodies hit plateaus. I would throw one or two higher intensity workouts in there to try to shake things up a bit. Stay determined, you're doing great!Darcy

Oh, .. trust me, we all didn't wake up and just start loving exercise!  It takes a lot of time and devotion..and DETERMINATION to get to that point :)  Even then, there are days when I don't feel like doing it.  But, exercising is loads better than the opposite end of the stick which, for me, is overweight and feeling crappy nearly every day.  Exercise gives me a high and keeps me going...  You'll find that too, the more you keep plucking along.  The more you force yourself to do it when you don't want to.  When you have to dig dip... That's when it matters the most.  Hang in there.

Thanks Donna. I do keep a food diary, I use the sparkpeople.com food tracker every day, even on the bad days when I really don't want to see it. I try to stay around 1500 calories a day, but I had one day where I went to 2500 this week. I even log in my ketchup, mustard and everything. It really does make me think twice before I eat anything because I know I will have to log it in and look at it there forever. That's one reason I have given up mayonnaise on my sandwiches even though I love it, now I order my veggie burgers at Burger King with no mayo or cheese and the calories and fat grams really do come way down. I am trying to be happy that at least I didn't have a gain.

Thanks , I will give the weights idea a try. I really am just way to nice to myself on my workouts. I will open up a new DVD today to try out, I have been slacking a lot and going with easier ones lately. How did you know? Are you all watching me? LOL.

183 is excellent , and most of us experience plateaus at some point or another. I'd try doing a workout you don't normally do and try going up in weights for your strength training workouts. You want to lift til you cannot physically do one more rep. When you fail in this way, you succeed.You are doing so well, please keep posting!

Your 2500 calorie day is fine .  In actuality, the best way to lose weight (some experts say) is to zig-zag your calories.  This is so your BMR (basal metabolic rate) doesn't set itself too low.  Be eating a high calorie day or two in a week's time, it keeps it guessing so it doesn't adjust itself to the lower intake and slow down.  Keep it guessing by having a day or two of higher calories.  But, with that said it shouldn't be too much higher, and make sure your exercise is more higher intensity then.

Its not fun everyday , but I think perhaps you just haven't found your

favorite thing yet. We all have our passions; running, kickboxing;tennis etc.

Finding your thing will help with the passion and intensity.

Btw, avocado doesn't "count" for WW healthy fats but it is a MUCH better source of fat than cheese so I'm not criticizing you, just "informing" you as a good little WW leader should! :-)

I was getting tired of see little gains for no reason and minimal weight coming off so I made a few changes this week that may have helped. I did buy an exercise bike and have been riding it daily (except for yesterday), I also gave up most of the soda and have started drinking water, I have been drinking 8 glasses daily, except for one day where I only got in 6. I have changed from a low fat vegetarian diet, to a fat free vegan diet. I weighed in this morning at 177, down from 183 last week. I am so happy to be back in the 170's, I had made it to 179 back on Feb. 23rd but have then had some crazy gains every week for no apparent reason. I am very happy this week. That is a total of 47 pounds lost since Sept. 1. Have a great day everyone.
