Guest guest
Hi , I'm glad I'M not the only one that doesn't like the dummies warm-ups! :-) You're doing great with your workouts! Tuesday Hi everyone. Today I walked on the tmill for 25 mins, did the full 15 min arms workout for Dummies, and most of the ab workout (skipped the warm-up). I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who dislikes the warm-ups on this dvd! The abs workout is a killer - those rock back and forth oblique crunches do me in every time. in Ontario
Guest guest
Not sure I could workout with anyone (except my 5 year old who is almost 6 now) watching me. She joins me for some workouts but someone just watching as if I were a spectator sport would really bug me! Definitely couldn't do anything much more complicated than WATP with anyone watching me. Hope the knee is getting better! Tuesday Hi everyone. I took yesterday off to rest my back, and today I took iteasy. I had abs and yoga down on the schedule, so I combined them by doinga half-hour of Yogilates level 2. Not the best workout - my mother sat andwatched me, so that was a tad unnerving.I'm missing cardio, which is something I never thought I would say. I'vealso gone up a couple of pounds, so that is not helping. Doctor's appt isthis Thursday, and my knee is maybe a little better, but more importantly,it certainly isn't worse.I'll do upper body weights tomorrow, and possibly some lower, modifying touse just my left leg. We'll see how that goes. And I'll no doubt have aspectator for that too! LOL I am NOT doing aerobics in front of my mother,so perhaps I'll choose Get Ripped for its light weights (and not moving)warm-up. in sunny/cloudy/sunny/cloudy OntarioNo virus found in this outgoing message.Checked by AVG Free Edition.Version: 7.5.485 / Virus Database: 269.13.14/999 - Release Date: 9/10/20075:43 PM
Guest guest
, I so hate it when I'm trying to workout at home and someone watches me! If I catch them, they have to workout with me! LOL I was interrupted the other day by DH while doing YBB Burlesque Style. I told him he had the same rule as the kids and had to do the workout with me if he interrupted or watched, so he started in. I had to stop because I was laughing so hard! Its funny, because it doesn't bother me at the gym to see someone watching from across the room, just at home. I guess because I know and love them, I'm more self consious then I am at the gym with people I'm not as emotionally involved with. So how is the knee? And what did you do to your back? I know my back will act up when I have a leg injury because it slips out of place from the unusual walk. I hope that is all that is wrong with your back and it will be back to normal soon. Guest guest
Hi . It took awhile for me to get used to having even the kids in the house while I worked out (as opposed to being in school) - last summer was when I just decided that working out was too important to me. So I kick the kids out of the living room, and I just do my thing. Or my son will be on my computer, but he's engaged and not interested in watching me. They will cheer me on if I'm yelling 'I can't DO just one more set' to the instructor in the tv. LOL This summer was much easier because of my commitment last year. Today was okay - I started my workout (Get Ripped) while mum was in the shower, and she joined me later, with a book. She just can't help commenting, though. Harmless stuff, just enough to break my concentration. Anyway, I found Ripped to be easier this time, but I will be feeling it tomorrow. I even did the squats, but went very, very shallow. The shoulder work felt hardest today. in drippy Ontario -----Original Message-----From: [mailto: ]On Behalf Of nancydewolfSent: Wednesday, September 12, 2007 11:12 AMNot sure I could workout with anyone (except my 5 year old who is almost 6 now) watching me. Guest guest
Hi Tonya. LOL I say the same thing when I kick the kids out of the room - leave or work out with me! They seldom stay. :-) The knee is marginally better. The areas hurting are still sensitive to touch (weirdest injury I've ever had), but it seems to be 'burning' less . That's what the pain feels like, but I do think it's lessening, even after I've been on my feet for awhile. I'm pretty sure I cannot kneel yet, and I'm not about to try it. <g> My back is wonky after hurting it playing tennis last summer - just whacking the ball around with my husband, of all things. It would really seize up for about 8 months after that, and has gradually gotten better. It hasn't acted up for months, but I'm sure my knee, and a lack of workouts, and lifting that darn box just pushed it a tad far. It's essentially back to normal now, although I'm still being very careful of twisting and bending. :-) , getting older in Ontario <g> -----Original Message-----From: [mailto: ]On Behalf Of Tonya - , I so hate it when I'm trying to workout at home and someone watches me! Guest guest
Yeah, they have no clue what started this infection - they asked him if he had been kneeling lately, and that's a yes - he's a heavy duty mechanic. They did take some fluid out (ouch!) and maybe that will answer some questions... On a more positive note, I did get in a 30 minute walk this morning. That's the first time I've done a continuous half-hour on the tmill since my knee went wonky. Yes, we've wondered if there's something in the water, too! Anyway, it felt good to up my cardio time, even though I wasn't going very fast. :-) Burned a whack of calories too, since my resting heart rate is elevated by this silly cold. Thanks for posting the pictures, Carolyn. You most definitely do not look heavy - you look like you work out. And Chinook is such a handsome dog. Did you ever watch Due South? Guest guest
Hi Donna. Nope, no cut or anything. They still haven't taken an x-ray, so we'll be pushing for that today. He's on a stronger antibiotic today, and has to go back at suppertime for another dosing. I think I may have overdone the walk yesterday, as I ended up with a sore knee in the evening. Sigh. Enough with the knees already! LOL Dh and I ran errands this morning, and now he's sitting with his leg up, watching tv. Again, I had weights planned, and again, it doesn't look like it will get done. I may take the day off, completely. I can always blame it on my cold... :-) I am, as always, enjoying reading about everyone's great workouts. Guest guest
Wow!! Sounds like a very tough workout, !! Great job and I'm so glad it was so much fun for you too!! Tuesday I had extra time today because of this short work week. I started witha segment from Hemalaya's Bollywood Burn. My goodness, it was fun! Ithink each segment is about 15 minutes. Super fun cardio. She's areally fun instructor. So, once I was limbered up and warm, I pulled out Beth Chamberlain'sKettlebell Way. I got so excited when the music started! This is theworkout that helped me when my feet were so bad. It's a tremendouszero impact workout. I used mostly 12 lb and 15 pound bells, exceptfor the one legged deadlift where I used a 20. Oh, and I went lighteron the windmill/squat combo. Fun, fun, fun!!!! II waited until my HR had dropped back into the lower end of my aerobiczone between each interval. Sometimes it took a couple of minutes, like right after the tactical lunges and the high pull/squat combo. Those are tough! It was so good to do the figure 8's to a catch again.Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm digging this bonus day off.
