Brewing containers?

That sounds very much like the Anchor Hocking cookie jars.

They are great for brewing. Lead free and made in the USA.

Just remember that the total volume of the container is one gallon, so

by the time you leave the one to two inch headspace recommended you

are actually brewing about seven pints, not eight!

The brew needs to breathe, suggest a cloth secured with rubber bands.

Thanks for clarifying!

A cloth or Viva paper towel held over the top for breathing.

Viva is great as it is very thick and none of the baddies will get

through, but! Use the second or third one on the roll so that you are

using one that has not been subjected to whatever is floating around

in the kitchen air!!!
