Scobys with air bubbles?

Hey everyone,

I've only been brewing a few months and all has been well, but the last week or

two, I've been getting baby SCOBY's that get BIG air bubbles in them and they

are not evenly thick all around. Is this a sign of something wrong?

I will admit that I was using distilled water at first, but with the quantity of

KT I'm making, I started using tap water. I do have my own well, so there is no

chlorine, and I have an aerator (to get rid of the sulphur), plus two sets of

filters (2 sediment, 2 charcoal...) before the water comes out the tap. Could

the water be the problem? Or is this nothing to be concerned about?

I do also have a water softener, but it doesn't work consistently.

Thanks for any thoughts!!

smiles,

christine
