Guest guest
I went to the spine specialist this morning and ... had more x-rays! Yeesh. Anyway, after a thorough exam, with mobility checks and flexibility checks, the doctor said that, yes, I do have some osteoarthritis but it’s apparently very mild (I don’t even have symptoms). We talked about the type of pain I’ve been having and when it started (my last, tough-it-out round with Tony Horton along with the new glutes dvd I started), and when I experience the pain (sitting only). He said everything looks good, and that it seems to him that I may have a pinched nerve. !!!!!! Okay, so that’s really good news. The ugh news is that I have to do physical therapy 3 times a week for 6 weeks. I also have to take a different anti-inflammatory for 2 weeks. If I don’t improve in 6 weeks, we’ll do an mri. But he thinks the only thing it’s probably going to show is a pinched nerve. But who knows. In the meantime, I still can’t do my own exercises. He wants the PT to help me with re-alignment and strengthening that won’t irritate the nerve and that won’t un-do any progress PT may bring. So... two steps forward and one step back. But, hey, it’s still progress! And, it’s a huge relief for me! So, all my new exercise dvds are on hold at least until the New Year. And again, I got reminded that I don’t have to kill myself to work out. It’s more important to exercise for health and to stay in shape than it is for me to look ripped. (then we both had a good laugh) Can you tell I like this guy? -Terri-
