Guest guest
Hi Jen, For mixed foods using Tracey Mallett's sytem you would just check off what food group was in each meal - for example - beef stew with noodles - you would check off a meat/protein, a veggie, and a starch. I liked her logs, they were easy to use, but I ran into issues b/c during the week I eat mostly vegetarian so I was having trouble tracking the protein. As I recall, I think hers was more focused on meats. I will have to look at htem again to see if I can make them work for me, I like that they were really easy to use!Take care, Donna From: pinkk_pussycat <pinkpussycat@ pinkpussycatscor ner.com>Subject: Re: OT Bad couple of weeks and my healthDate: Sunday, November 22, 2009, 6:06 PM Jen, I eat healthy too and also exercise 7-11 hours a week. My problem is my portions are way too big. The medication for your slow thyroid will help for sure, but I think that keeping a food journal and tallying up your calories, fat, carbs and protein for the day will also be insightful, I know it is for me! Are you doing the Slim in 6 rotation with us? I know you have the workouts!Hugs No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG - www.avg.comVersion: 8.5.425 / Virus Database: 270.14.61/2497 - Release Date: 11/22/09 19:40:00 No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG - www.avg.comVersion: 8.5.425 / Virus Database: 270.14.78/2521 - Release Date: 11/23/09 19:45:
Guest guest
Have you seen the vegetarian pyramid? You could make your own tracking logs with the right number of servings from the pyramid you prefer instead of following someone else’s plan that doesn’t meet your nutritional goals. I think I have a copy of it somewhere in my powerpoints from my most recent nutrition class. I could upload them to the group if you all want to see them. Tonya From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Donna M-P Sent: Wednesday, November 25, 2009 7:11 AM Subject: JEN - LOGGING MIXED FOODS Hi Jen, For mixed foods using Tracey Mallett's sytem you would just check off what food group was in each meal - for example - beef stew with noodles - you would check off a meat/protein, a veggie, and a starch. Guest guest
That would be wonderful, Tonya! I honestly have a hard time with the 7 protein servings - especially since during the week I mostly eat veggie sources - beans/rice, etc. Donna From: pinkk_pussycat <pinkpussycat@ pinkpussycatscor ner.com>Subject: Re: OT Bad couple of weeks and my healthDate: Sunday, November 22, 2009, 6:06 PM Jen, I eat healthy too and also exercise 7-11 hours a week.
