Guest guest
De. those are pretty good numbers. Normal fasting blood sugar was 70-110 at the last hospital I worked at and 80-120 at most labs. The American Dietary Association recommends an A1c of less than 7.0 for diabetics and the Endocrinology association recently changed their recommended level to less than 6.5. My last A1c was 5.2 and I don't know how I did that. My next one won't be that good but if it is less than 6.5 I will be happy and so will my doc. Sugar results are in Fasting was 103 (normal 65-99) and A1C was 6.0% (normal <6.0%) Comments: “has evidence of impaired glucose tolerance. Needs to lose weight and exercise regularly. Repeat fasting blood sugar and glycohemoglobin level every 6 months.” I hate to exercise. I hate to sweat. I am not happy. De

Guest guest
Hi Del, Yep that is to high. In a hospital setting, a common Dr's order is to call for anything above 250. Then they would give a little Insulin. You may not feel much, usually I have to pee all night, when mine has been that high. I have been close to 400 before and was still walking and talking. I have seen people come to the ER with blood sugars of 800-900. They were sick. The highest I have seen was a 2 year old that came in comatose with a sugar of over 1,000. He died and the parents got a visit from the Division of Family Services. Get busy and get it down to under 200 as soon as you can. I have heard that over 200 is when damage begins to the vessels and nerves. You can do it. Re: Sugar results are in WOW!! Hi Micheal and De.. Guest guest
I’m not freaking out or anything. I just know I need to make some changes before I’m diabetic. Guest guest
Yes Del, start reading labels, look at sugar grams and carbs. If you can, just start walking. That is what I am trying to get myself to do but it is easy to makes excuses. I know what to do but I don't know where to get the motivation from. Re: Sugar results are in WOW!! Hi Micheal and De.. Guest guest
if you figure it out would you please share with the rest of us. Between pain and weather I never walk. So the excuses I understand. When I was 11 I was shoved off some stairs and landed on my tailbone. I was seeing a chiropractor for months til the evil step-dad(also the shover) refused to allow mom to take me any longer. I have always had severe pain in my lower back from this. The chiropractor only keeps records for 5 years so I have no record of it. Drs always ex ray and say no we dont see any problems. Ha not them feeling the pain. Can some one tell me a better test? love n hugs d <kcmija@...> wrote: Yes Del, start reading labels, look at sugar grams and carbs. If you can, just start walking. Guest guest
Went grocery shopping last night because my daughter complained we didn’t have any food. She was NOT a happy camper when I kept nixing all her requests because of carbs! She knew I was right however, because she needs to lose, too. Re: Sugar results are in Hi . I used to do what you are doing, and tryto figure out what is going on in someones elses head as to did they just say some scary statistic so I really WOULD quit driving?? or... is it true? I would like to think Doctors are for the most part, not like me, and " embellish " a little to get the results I want. hahaha! If the doc advised you to eat healthier and exercise more, I wouldn't think that was too bad, even if it wasn't 100% accurate. Good Luck!! Guest guest
keep up the great work hun Motley <dmotley@...> wrote: I started South Beach diet (seems the most logical – low carbs, low fat) and have lost 5 lbs since my letter from the doc. He should be impressed when I see him next Thursday. I’m in the strict phase right now which lasts 2 weeks – 2 months (up to me). The article that most upset me was one on webmd that said people with pre-diabetes are hugely more likely to die of some kind of cancer than people with or without diabetes. It didn’t suggest a reason for that, just that it was discovered.
