I'm not supposed to "exercise" just walk to help reduce chances for blood clots and especially to reduce fluid buildup so I put on Austin's indoor walk workout DVD and did the 15 minute Easy Walk on it. It is easy but was about right in terms of intensity. I did everything at very low intensity, didn't add any power moves, didn't increase any motions, if anything I did things smaller than she did. I have limited arm/shoulder mobility on the left side that I have to work to improve so when she has you reach up and back, reach up and take a deep breath, etc. it was really difficult for me at first but by the end of the 15 minutes I was able to move a lot more easily. I do have stitches in so I can't risk overdoing the stretching but I loosened up nicely anyway. I am allowed to stretch too so I did her 10 minute stretch on this DVD, which I like a lot anyway and that also felt good. I modified slightly where necessary but overall was able to do the whole thing. It felt really good to move. I was thinking about taking a walk outdoors but can only get to neighborhoods from my house and can't wear a bra yet so since I felt uncomfortable outside in just a thin t-shirt I did instead. If it gets cold out I'll put on a sweatshirt (which in Michigan, it could tomorrow even though it should get up to about 80 degrees today!) and walk outside but this worked well for me today. I still can't do a lot on the computer, the angle of holding it or typing or something just starts to hurt a lot after a little while so I'll probably mostly just post workouts like this, get off the computer and maybe check mail later for at least the next few days. I just don't want to seem like I'm not interested in conversations, because I am, I just can't do a lot of it yet. (I'm going to have to pretend I'm more limited after I'm healed too, maybe I'll get more done around the house that way!) Anyway, I'm feeling great today, not quite normal but a lot closer anyway. Okay, getting off the computer and reading a book next!
