Guest guest
Hello Kombucha Group, I signed on with your great group recently and the knowlege here has been so very helpful. I'm currently on day ten of brewing my first batch of Kombucha. My batch did grow a paper thin scoby on top and I taste tested it for the first time today. I have only had experience with GT Kombucha thus far and the taste of my batch is distinctly sweeter. Is this typical? Or should I brew it for an additional day or two? The taste is very nice and on my tounge it does tastes slightly acidic. Unfortunately I do not have any pH testing strips yet, so I cannot test the PH level to be certain of the acidity. I also have a question for starting my new batch. Can I use both scobys in the next batch? Or should I start two separate batches? I figure I will need a scoby hotel at some point and I'm not certain how I will go about getting the KT for that. Do you brew a special batch just for your hotel and then always use that for the new scobys? Thanks! New KT'r,
