Guest guest Posted September 10, 2008 Report Share Posted September 10, 2008 I just decanted my first batch of KT made using Brown Rice Syrup. And it was kind of weird. There is a kind of brownish scum coating the SCOBYs and the jar. Also, as I decanted the brew, towards the bottom it became more opaque. Also, there are scum solids floating in the KT. So, is this normal for brown rice syrup?
