Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm trying to be more "intuitive" in my exercise approach so I'm trying to just grab what I think/feel that I need for a particular day. It will be interesting to see how it works out. I know that I will still want a little structure here and there - for instance, next week I want to get back to my push-up challenge and pick up where i left off! I am at week 4 so hopefully I can finish this 6 week challenge by the end of the year! And, I want to make sure I get enough cardio in b/c in my "real" life (desk job and all) I'm not that active. Anyway, in organizing my workouts last week I ran into my Ravi Singh/Ana Bret Kundalini DVDs. I was thinking of them and decided to do one today - my back felt really tight and Kundalini with its constant motion is usually very good for loosening things up. There is also a lot of work for the spine in most of the kundalini practices I have done and quite a bit of back bending - it isn't as "forward" focused as a lot of other practices. Plus, there is just something fun about it. It isn't for everyone - it is very new-agey and sometimes I'm in a new-agey mood, sometimes not. So it just has to be the right "thing" for me for the day in order for it to work and be enjoyable. Today it worked well! I got up late - (for me) but I had time to do most of the Hips Bliss practice. I skipped some of the ending meditations at the end b/c I ran out of time. But I did most of it. The hip stretching/opening section was good - most of it contained familiar yoga exercises. I like the vibe of these workouts - Ana generally is on-screen performing the exercises on a fuzzy rug and Ravi is doing the voice-over. Sometimes Ana does the voice over. There is a playful sort of feel to it all and the music works very well with all of it. I did feel better - more energized and looser after I finished. I will probably do some more of these this week. I also see that the team of Ravi and Ana has also produced three new ones that look good! Take care, Donna
