Guest guest
Nope. I have epilepsy and and I'm on anti-seizure meds. No problem whatsoever. KT & EPILEPSY Hi everyone, My boyfriend has epilepsy & I was wondering if the KT would be a bad thing for him. It detoxifies the body and I'm afraid that it might strip out all of his medication that he needs to keep from having a seizure like Golden Seal does. Has anyone ever had that experience? Thank you, Skye
Guest guest
Do you think different meds could be affected differently? He sees aura's just before he has a seizure. So he can catch them 99.99% of the time. I just don't want anything bad to happen to him. I love him too much to risk his health in that area. Guest guest
Hi Rodrick and EveryOne, Most of us that have been brewing Kombucha a long time, have found that rather than try to convince anyone of the benefits of Kombucha or that they should drink it:- which only creates resistance in most people, the best thing is to teach by example.... As you begin to experience the benefits of Kombucha you can share your experiences with your friends, relatives etc. and at the same time not telling them what to do. Then offer to share Kombucha with them....if they accept fine, if not fine, another time perhaps.... Lots of people will come around and be interested and in their own time, when they are ready, they will give it a try....and that is when it will benefit them. Guest guest
I'm not making anyone drink it. I have asked lots of people if they would like to try it. Some have loved it, some have not. It all depends on the person. My whole thing was to find out if it would be safe for him & his having epilepsy. Guest guest
It's not that bad, when you are not used to seeing weird stuff like that and are not willing to go the wholistic route, some of the stuff can freak you out! LOL I found a huge box of bigelow green tea that is organic at sams club for $7.00 US Re: KT & EPILEPSY > > Hi everyone, > My boyfriend has epilepsy & I was wondering if the KT would be a bad thing for him. Guest guest
I have epilepsy and it has not caused any problems. What I have noticed is that KT has been removing the bad toxins in my body, but since I take my anti-convulsants daily, it is tough to flush toxins you repeatedly keep putting into your body, when you do it every day of the year for years on end. I used to have seizures every day. I hardly have them now. I can not say if it is due to the KT or not. > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > My boyfriend has epilepsy & I was wondering if the KT would be > > a bad thing for him. Guest guest
Hi. With my first scoby I used herbal teas from our garden like spearmint and woolly leaf meadow tea. I thought tea was tea and any kind of plant you brew in hot water made tea. Technically real tea comes from the Camellia sinensis bush or tree. The kt gurus say that you have to use tea from the camellia sinensis tree to make REAL kombucha. They also said that the oils in spearmint may damage the scoby and chemically change it. What they said must be true. Even though I immediately switched to real tea, the brew from that original scoby has a distinctly different smell. It smelled fine when I first got is but now it has almost a chemical smell like chlorine or something. Also it doesn't seem to want to make any baby scobys. I think I should get rid of it. Hopefully you can get off to an easier start than I did. Rodrick Re: Re: KT & EPILEPSY > That's a challenge all right! I even ruined my first scoby with my herbal teas. (sorry Yaphey!) I still have it but I don't know if it's any good. I think I got it figured out now though. I'm on my sixth batch and drinking my fifth one. Sure tastes good! Guest guest
Rodick, I have ny scoby on the way. Can you tell me what you did wrong so I will try not to make the same mistake.? thanks. Guest guest
I've never tried that, but I did try it with Chai once. It was good, but after a while I got a stomach ache from it & turned to black. I didn't like that so much & was told by someone in the group to try all green tea & I love it that way. I haven't tried any of the other teas like oolong {I know that is spelled wrong LOL} Re: Re: KT & EPILEPSY > That's a challenge all right! I even ruined my first scoby with my herbal teas. Guest guest
Has it been less since you started drinking it? I'd love to know. Do you remember when you started to notice the difference? Have you ever stopped drinking KT & have them increase again? I'm sorry for asking so many questions, I just want to have as much information to go to him with. And have other peoples experiences to tell him. Re: KT & EPILEPSY I have epilepsy and it has not caused any problems.
