I try to maintain a low profile when it comes to tx and the after effects. I did my tx July 04 and had to stop in oct towards the end of the month. i had all the sides plus some and it took a year to get to where I am now. I have 3 good weeks and one bad, I'd like to say it's all because of old age. But I don't regret trying the tx I think it help a lot. You'll feel better each week.

Ok peoples... here is a question. I am wondering how post treatment went for others. I am about 4.5 months post and still having a heck of a time. I would love to hear how it went for others after the last pill went down.

Hi Llinda!

It took a good 6 months after Tx for most of the sides to go away for me.

I still have the headache I got with my first shot and that was 7/11/2000. Sometimes it gets worse but it's always there.

The diabetes, courtesy of Mr. Interferon is still with me and has steadily progressed for the worst.

All of my hair never really grew back as thick as it was but it's no biggie. At least I don't look like a Wooly Mammoth anymore LOL.

It took me longer than that to start feeling

normal again, and to have any energy except in very short spurts. I still

have residual back pain and don’t expect it to go away. What

happened for me was that gradually, the energy spurts would get longer and

closer together. I still can’t stay up late. I’m still

in bed by 9 and asleep by 10, so I can get up at 6. I still take elavil

to help me stay asleep, too. Sometimes it works & sometimes it don’t.

I still try to do a lot of nothing on the weekends, too.

Hope

it starts getting better for you soon, Llinda. You had a harder time on tx

than I did, too. Maybe that’s got something to do with it.

Love,

De

Thanks for tx replies everyone, will try to remember what to answer:

I had a bone density test a few weeks ago, I am off the charts on the good side.. must be all that milk I drink (3 gal per week). I have 4 herniated discs in my neck.. nothing to do with tx but hurt big time.

I am frustrated by being so tired all the time! There is so darn much I want to do and can't, hubby helps some but I don't think he understands. Mostly doesn't want to talk about it.

Someone mentioned rashes.. thanks! I had forgotten they were part of all this. I get huge ones and a few hours later they disappear, only to be replaced in a different spot. The last trip to MD resulted in an antibiotic that put me in major rashes... maybe partially due to tx. Weird.

, I don't think you are mean at all, lol. Ornery is a whole separate issue.

... I thought that was the name of the procedure, not the condition itself???

Well, has just finished hauling a bunch of monsters with a severe sugar highs. Pooped tonight and so glad old fart is out of town for the night. Only have to deal with the rest of the critters demands, lol. *Oh... sounds like I am about to be given a Blue & Gold Macaw... cage and all! I know, just what I need is another bird, but they are amazing birds!*

Ok peoples... here is a question. I

am wondering how post treatment went for others. LOVE the hearts..post tx for me..I'm 5 months off tx..feel ok..but still sluggish. Not up to going back to work yet..I'm lucky I have that choice. I have good days and bad..more good ones though..muscles in my legs are back and thats a blessing....I was stage 3 when I did the meds.. I'm high energy and when my leg muscle stopped I new there was trouble. My muscle strength is back..brain is functioning at about 90%..just having a heck of a time staying w/o the headache or chesty thing. Hi Gail and . I have been off tx since just before Christmas, and I had, and still have rashes on my arms, and the upper patrt of my back. I quit cause it made me sick. Its kinda' like my dog when he wants to play and I feel sick. Nothing major..but irratating as hell!!! My doc just said use skin lotion designed for dry skin. I have found (maybe it's advertising..) this creme that is expensive but I don't seem to notice itching...It's kinda' like ...Hey!! I haven't been itching!! I can't FIND IT!! OHHHHH!!! I'm starting to itch!!!! It has cortezone(sp)? in it. Mine came in a tube. Also...I'm trying to teach Kirby to scratch my back!! Neutrogena is supposed to be pretty good, I hear. Hope you can get relief from it. Maybe OIL BATHS??? Llinda I can tell ya I am 1 yr+ post tx and I am very miserable. I had a rough time on tx with sooo many sides. On tx I usually had 1 GOOD day a week and that was a good week. Now days I do have some energy, but in short spurts. I too have a constant headache. Weak muscles, aching joints and muscles. I still deal with depression and even rage at times. But lately neither of those are so overwhelming. I still break out in what my dr has called hives. But it is what several have said to me as the livers way of getting rid of impurities. Just my 1/2 cents worth.. love and hugs danneLlinda <2llama@...> wrote: Ok peoples... here is a question. I am wondering how post treatment went for others. Try the Aveeno bath products, they worked for me. The itching is called puritis & it's part of the HCV. Toxins build up in your skin & it itches. Ask your doctor for an anti histamine, if he won't give you any go to the pharmacy & speak to the pharmacist to see what he recommends & good luck to you. Hey Del, Antihistamines are for allergies. Allergies can be anything from sneezing & watering eyes to dead. If you're allergic to peanuts for example & get some by accident it'll kill you. I'm allergic to cats ( & I live with one - go figure) that can cause the sneezing & watery eyes. I'm also allergic to sunlight - this causes an itchy rash after exposure to the sun without sun block. Antihistamines treat both kinds of allergies. My doctor gave me some for the itchies when I had 'em & they worked fine - itch gone. A corticosteroid can also help but I think the pills are the best - up to you. I'd start with the Aveeno &

work my way up. My doc didn't want me taking too many of the antihistamine cause it's not exactly liver-friendly. SuZieDel Compton <go_deliman@...> wrote: Good Morning. Hi Suzie I've been there.. But my Doctors said no Antihistamines at all.. None nada zip.. End of subject..What I did get was a script for Ambian.. Take two at bed time and if your still having trouble take two more..Cute huh. Bruce forced me to keep my finger nails cut..I was scratching my self to death..Try salt scrubs and Aveeno skin products are great.. I would put Avons Skin so Soft in bath water and scrub my self with a wash cloth ( bath salt scrub) ..It would satisfiy some Primative need..Kathy Boosuzie <suzieandsandy@...> wrote: Hey Del, Antihistamines are for allergies. I know it does go away after about a year.During that year they gradually start reducing on how many you get.I thought the headaces were never going to end.Thank god they did.I have heard of a few people that had them longer but it makes me wonder if the headaces are from something else when they last longer then a year after treatment.
