Guest guest Posted January 30, 2012 Report Share Posted January 30, 2012 I'd say since about October my special guy has been using foul language, and calling people names, not all of the names are bad ones (a lot of them are silly off the wall names like, he calls my signficant other a Chopper). He was sent home with a note in his B/pack from his teacher specifying that he was calling others names to aggrivate them. He told me who started the name calling, because he didin't do this before this school year started. Progressively it is getting worse and he has also gotten rather bold and is talking back. I need to know if there are any other parents experiencing the same or similar types of behaviors, if there are any workable modification ideas out there. Feedback is greatly appreciated. Guest guest Posted January 31, 2012 Report Share Posted January 31, 2012 my son started to do really inappropriate things and laughing. We decided he didn't understand a good joke from a bad joke. So we started catching him doing funny things (appropriate) and would say... that's a good joke, and make a big deal out of it. But when it was inappropriate, we'd be short and stern and tell him " not good " joke. This may work with your son because you have examples of good funny names but also bad ones. You can also provide candy or some reinforcement for the good ones!
