Guest guest
Hi folks! I know it's been a while, but things have been busy here with the end of school and my temp job (still working on finding the next position). Tom had cast #3 put on in early June. When cast #2 came off, we were ecstatic because we thought his back looked fabulous--even Dr. S was excited. But after cast #3 went on, Dr. S told us we all had been a bit overly optimistic as it looked like his curve had not changed at all. They also remeasured his curve and he started out with a 55 degree in January (not 47 degrees like we thought), but he was 42 degrees before cast #3 went on so it's going in the right direction. He's down to 12 degrees in the cast, which is promising too. Tom's just started walking without holding on to something, but bending over is still a challenge. We're also dealing with some asymmetry issues while he crawls and his PT is afraid something may be wrong with his hip. So we're working on that too. Steve's frustrated because he knows how uncomfortable this heat is making Tom, but he knows it's helping so he's sucking it up for now. I'm sorry I missed the webcast with Dr. S! I need to get back over here more often. I hope everyone is doing well!
