Guest guest
Hi, We have a Britax Marathon that has worked very well for us, with a good width. I especially like how quick and easy it is to lengthen/shorten the straps and they're long enough to go over a cast. We've used it since he grew out of his infant seat, and he's now 4yo and 35 lbs. We are already planning on getting Mikelle a new car seat because she gets car sick so much the one she has now stinks no matter how much we wash it.. Any ideas on what seats would be best for a little one in a cast?
Guest guest
We bought the britax frontier which is the mac daddy of btittax:) as far as wieght goes. We had a marothon but when he got his first cast we had to get a new seat for comfort. This model goes up to 65 lbs. The marothon because of the shape I guess made his legs fall asleep. How old is your child? If she's young I think a marothon would be fine for awhile but if she's ready for a frontier you may as well go for the gusto and eliminate eventually buying another! Guest guest
I bought the Britax Marathon for my 6 month old when she got her first cast. It works really well for right now Momma to Ella, 8 months, cast #3 applied on Monday 5/21 > > Did you need to use a new car seat after your little one got a cast? Guest guest
I also have a Britax. My daughter uses the Marathon 70. It's not too bulky and she can sit in it until she weighs 70 pounds. She is 2 and she fits well in it with her casts. The straps are wide and adjust easily Diapers.com usually have great sales on Britax with free shipping! > > Did you need to use a new car seat after your little one got a cast? Guest guest
We had a really awesome hospital that provided us with a Britax Hippo carseat, which is supposed to be specially designed for children in spica casts, but it worked really well for us, too. I would recommend it... if you can afford it (it's super expensive)!! Unfortunately for us, our doctor at that hospital wasn't as awesome, so we ended up eventually transferring care to SCL Shriners and we're very happy with our new doctor -- but we're still thankful to our former hospital for the carseat! Good luck!
