Hi everyone,

I haven't been on in a long time. There has been so much going on and just

haven't had the time.

I wanted to share that Avery just started wearing her first brace after 5 casts.

She has been holding at 10 degrees for the last 3 casts, down from 39 degrees in

Janurary 2011. Her rotation is down to 0 and holding, from 20 degrees in January

2011.

She is now 2 years and 9 months old. We started casting when she was 16 months

old.

The Dr thinks that she is good to go and won't need any further intervention

after she gets her brace of in 12 months. We will go back to see him every 3

months while she is in her brace. Then we will continue to see him annually

until she stops grwoing for check ups. She looks so straight!

Her brace was fitted to be exactly the same shape as her cast, even had the same

cut outs. So, she doesn't mind it.

She was able to swim for the first time 3 weeks ago and it was a beautiful

sight. A very wonderful payoff for 17 months of casting.

I know that this process would have been so much more stressful without the help

of everyone on here. I am so very thankful and blessed that the Dr gave me this

website information when I first saw him.

God definitely had His hand on Avery during this time. If we had gotten into see

the Dr even 3 months earlier, we would have seen a specialist that didn't do EDF

casts. Our Dr came on 2-3 months before we got in to see him.

Thank you all again and I hope that my next update is just as good of news.
