Guest guest
Hi everyone - I joined the group a few months ago but have not been able to spend much time on here so I apologize in advance if I am asking some silly questions. Our son Mason is 2 1/2 years old. He has severe neuromuscular scoliosis and congential mysathenic syndrome. We live in Chicago IL but currently travel to Mayo Clinic every other month for all of Mason's doctors. He just had his second Mehta cast done at Mayo Clinic in Rochester two weeks ago. We would like to order a drysuit for him and I noticed on earlier posts that Whites Diving has been used by most casting families. Here are my questions: 1. Our doc at Mayo does not know of any families that have done drysuits and she seems to think that we SHOULD NOT try the drysuit out unless it is the night before his next casting appointment. She is concerned that if the suit does not work we will need to be close to her so that they can cut the cast off ASAP. Thoughts??? 2. After talking with the staff at Whites Diving this morning, it sounds like the suit covers his feet and all of this arms. Did anyone consider a Hickman suit made by Hammond in the UK? They make shortie dry suits so that the kids can feel the water on the arms and legs. Any thoughts? Thank you so much for any feedback with this issue. -Keri Gretebeck
