Whites does not cover the feet, but it does cover the legs and the arms. It is a good drysuit. Use a wax divers use for the zipper and you are all set. I don't think you need it to make the suit waterproof but it does make the zipper easier to operate. I live an hour away from the manufacturer so it is easy for me to order and pick up a suit for my son. Hickman's is made overseas is my understanding. White's used to be made different, but they have a new individual making the suits in the last few years. I am very happy with my sons and we have used it probably over 100 times with no leaks. We do however, put a T-shirt over our son's cast because when you towel dry off the suit and the unzip it some droplets will get into the suit. It shouldn't damage the cast as it is only a few drops but the T-shirt will absorb it and any other drips that may occur. Our son's cast has never been damaged by a drysuit. Divers wear them all the time with great success. hope this helps!
