That is great news! Every child's reactions are different. So glad he overcame the " hospital anxiety. " High fives to Cole!ErynMother of Brayden, 20 months old, 3rd cast----- Reply message -----From: " Leggett " <jennifer.leggett@...><infantile scoliosis treatment >Subject: Hospital Anxiety OvercomeDate: Sun, Jun 10, 2012 8:19 pm

My son finished casting 2 years ago and during casting and even after he had what I would consider PTSD / SEVER hospital anxiety.  He would freak out the second we saw a house / place we went to while casting. We didn't think he would be able to come meet his new brother in the hospital he was so phobic.  I'm so happy to say that 2 years later we are 100% over it!!!  Friday Cole tripped and hit his head hard and got a concussion and had to get 2 stitches.  So off to the ER.  HE did great!!! No anxiety at all.  He didn't even cry!  He laughed and joked with the doctor about Phineas and Ferb and Dr. D the whole time!  I'm so proud of him!!! So any of you with kids with anxiety just give them time :)

Amber,When I would go to the midwife for my pregnancy checks and cole would see a doctor he would freak out and try to escape! I completely know where you are coming from!  It is so hard to watch, but I'm so happy to know now that they can overcome that fear. :)

I am so happy to hear this! My Abby is so scared of hospitals and doctors in

general and I know it is because of all of the care she has had due to

scoliosis. Yesterday, it took both my husband and I to hold her still long

enough just to get the X-ray done. She was screaming and crying and trying her

best to get off that x-ray platform. She was terrified. And every time she

goes to ANY doctor (even her regular pediatrician) she is terrified. She will

cry any time they get near her. I am so looking forward to the day when she

outgrows her fears. So glad that your little boy has overcome his :)

I thought of this email the other day while we were at Walmart.

This nice woman was trying to help us find some swimming gear (YES I said

swimming.. only 32 more days till we get our brace :)! Anyway she had one

of those bulky scanning devices & it kind of looked like it could be

medical equipment & wouldn't you know it we had a fit of " cast PTSD " he

could not calm down until that woman was safely out of sight with that

" thing " . I can't want till he out grows this!
