Guest guest
First - a huge thank you to everyone here. My son finally got his first cast on Monday at Shriners in Philly. The nurses said, " you must be a part of that group with . " lol. I never would have heard of this option if not for the internet and all of you! is 13 months old and at 38* out of cast. His scoliosis did not progress over the last year, but we're giving the cast a try anyway because chances are that it will progress eventually. The first cast only made an 8* difference in cast. Is that okay? The doc seemed a little disappointed in that, but I'm hoping it doesn't mean anything. is a complicated kid and even applying the first cast got him a two night stay in the hospital just to be monitored. I REALLY want to learn how to take the cast off myself so that I can save my paid time off for his other issues. I watched a you tube video of a cast being removed at home, but does anyone have any tips? What's the best type of clippers to use? I bought rug cutters. Will that work? Thanks again!! Even the nurses deferred many questions to this group because admittedly, you are the experts!
