Guest guest
Hi just wanted to let you know we are in dc and casted at children's hospital in dc and had a great experience. My daughters curve went from 60 degrees to 29 in the first cast and we are going Monday for her second one. The doctors who cast at children's also have an office in polis as well as dc and va. You might want to consider them since they are closer and experienced with Mehta . Good luckSent from my iPadOn Mar 30, 2012, at 9:34 AM, "Lori" <lorievans272003@...> wrote: Hi Everyone! My name is Lori and I am relatively new to the group. My daughter Ryleigh (10 months) was diagnosed on 2.1.11 and we are waiting until mid April to get a second x-ray to see if she is progressing or not (her MRI was normal and her Cobb and RVAD are right on the line so she could go either way). I had the opportunity to meet another Mom yesterday who is going through all this at the same time as us and we seem to be at the same point in our journeys (wait and see). We both saw doctors at Hopkins and had totally different experiences. Her doctor didn't advocate for casting and in fact discouraged it. On the other hand the doctor that I saw was very knowledgable about casting and Dr. Mehta's principles. We are very curious if there is anyone out there that is casting at Hopkins and could give us some info on how the process has been. I am hoping that Ryleigh will correct on her own and not need casting but if she does need casting we will need to decide whether to travel to Rochester for casting or if we should stay in Baltimore and Cast with the doctor at Hopkins. Any input about casting at Hopkins would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Lori =
