It is a lot better, and fun to pick out your own tape we didn't realize how many different colors there were before we had jaylin casted for the first time in dec. Riley let jaylin pick out a color and he ended up with sculls, camo and red flames and ever since then we have been collecting different colors and weird shapes of duct tape :) This was a great idea of bringing up to new parents!!!!!!!!Live, laugh, and loveJoyOn May 5, 2012, at 9:15 PM, "aivrees mommy" <amber.flannery@...> wrote:

When Aivree had her casts applied at TCH Denver they would seal the moleskin with ugly black duct tape :/ I thought it looked terrible. So we went searching for something better. At Walmart of all places, we found decorative duct tape! They have peace signs, zebra print, fire, camo and much more for only 3 bucks a roll! I would let Aivree pick out her own designs and we would bring them to TCH everytime she got a new cast. They used it instead of their black tape and it looked so much cooler! We even started a trend and our doctor began to tell the other parents about the it. Other kids started bringing their own cool tape in! It makes things a little more fun and unique. And we would always pick a cast color to match the tape. Aivree thought her casts were much "prettier" this way.

Decorating the cast is great! I think it helps the casted kiddo take pride in cast wearing. Also, helps strangers to comment on something besides their own shock in seeing a casted kiddo.
