Guest guest
Hi Stacee I'm in Pickering. Have you had a look at the Knit Rite Torso Interface shirts in coolmax and X-Static. No seams, long, body hugging and super-stretchy. Expensive up here but I can get them much cheaper in Erie, PA where my son gets his casting done. Best regards, Curtis Okazaki. > > I have only been a member for a week, and I can say I have never felt so supported in this journey. A question for those of you in braces currently...What is the best style of shirt for under the brace. Cole is 4 years old, and is extremely tall for his age. We tried a tank top, but he had some redness under his arm. We have also noticed that if it is the slightest bit big it affects his skin. Has anyone found something wonderful that has worked to keep their child comfortable during bracing. I live in Toronto, and would love any suggestions you have!! > > Thanks in Advance... > Stacee >
Guest guest
Hi Stacee,I am in Windsor and we use the knit rite shirt that Curtis mentioned. There is a tank top version and a mock neck version. Kylies new Ortho guy who made her brace seems to be able to get them cheaper than the place in London where we ordered from. I can ask how much they are. Guest guest
We have only used the knit rite shirts for casting. I plan to use them under brace when we get there. They are about $45 dollars to get them from out local orthotics supply store. I'm in Indiana. Sometimes people on here have some they don't need anymore. Good luck!! Guest guest
Most of us have found that the knit rite anti microbial shirt worked best:) Please request from your orthotist as they have direct contact with the vendor. Guest guest
My child is in a brace and we use the knit-rite 'cool-max' torso interface shirts. They are beige in color but are similar to the gray knit-rite shirts used in casting. However these have a material that wicks away moisture - my child requests the beige one over the gray shirt. (The gray has silver in it which provides anti-microbial properties, something you need for extended cast wear.) They are seamless and fit snugly so you don't get ripples that cause red marks. I believe they also can have an under the arm flap if needed to deal with rubbing. You should ask the people who you got the brace from about ordering, as you can only get these through a medical facility - Knit-rite doesn't sale direct to the public. From: heather@... <heather@...>Subject: Re: "Brace" Yourself for this Question!infantile scoliosis treatment Date: Monday, July 30, 2012, 8:31 PM Most of us have found that the knit rite anti microbial shirt worked best:) Please request from your orthotist as they have direct contact with the vendor.
