changing the knit rite shirt

I saw the video ( thank you ) of the dad changing the shirt. Would love to hear

from people who have also done it and that it was okay. I am waiting for so

long to change the shirt especially now with the hot weather!!!

We change it a few times a week. It took a couple of weeks after the cast was put on for us to be able to change it until her body fit in the cast better and there was a little more room. Until then we tried to move it around as much as possible. We havent had any issues but the shirt is getting fragile on the bottom and I am really hoping it makes it til next cast. This is our first cast and we are a little more than halfway done with it. Hope that helps.

We changed it all the time in the first 2 casts. In the third now and it

is very tight we don't change it much but I can tell he is much more

comfertable when we can get it changed. Good luck & I'm happy to answer

any questions about it!

Hi! fina´s cast is really tight cause she had a very severe curve (90º out of cast) so it is quite difficult for us to change the shirt. She is in her 3rd cast now (23rd febraury in SLC) and we have only changed it twice. Last time at SLC we mentioned this to the doctor and he said that it was no problem, that he understood it could be too tight. We are about to change it again now and I think it will be last time before next casting date (10 may). It takes us around 20 minutes, and some parts are really hard to manage to get the shirt through the cast. The good thing is that doesn´t complain about it and she stays still while we are changing it.

Hi,

We had ordered extra shirts from a company here in bloomington so we can change Jaylin's shirt about everyday. He is my little sweater and he complains about stinking!! He is 5 so he helps a lot by listening really good I even asked for an extra shirt one day in the cast clinic, and they gave me one (well im sure we paid for in on the doctor visit )

when we change it it also helps the with the itching.
