Guest guest
My 9 month old son got his first cast removed yesterday and his 2nd cast applied today. Luckily, it was a much easier experience the second time around! (for everyone). My question is, what kind of results has everyone gotten after their first cast? I know every child is different...and results vary. I guess I'm just curious! My son started with a 48-50 degree curve. We were told it was a rather rigid curve, as well. As of this morning, he was 38-40 degrees out of cast and 21 degrees in cast. I was very happy with the progress....especially after looking at his spine out of cast and not being able to see much of a difference. Thanks everyone! Guest guest
Early Treatment should be a gradual process and results vary. Its sounds like you guys are right on track!HRH From: infantile scoliosis treatment [mailto:infantile scoliosis treatment ] On Behalf Of lindsayrineerSent: Thursday, May 10, 2012 6:10 PMinfantile scoliosis treatment Subject: First cast results? Guest guest
That is great correction. Remember that at first you don't notice a difference out because the spine isn't very strong in the new position. The force of gravity pushes it back quite a bit. As it strengthens you will notice a HUGE difference - usually around cast 3. Congratulations!Jenn Mommy to Cole & Max
Guest guest
Thanks guys! I've also noticed this cast is much tighter on his back. Last time if explosions made their way up his back I could easily turn him on his side or tummy and get inside w my hand to clean it up. (the lower portion at least). I'd never be able to do that this time! It makes me a little nervous, but we are cloth diapering now which has helped immensely...and hes eating more solids now at 10 months which def helps!! > > That is great correction.
