We fly to get casted. If Aly is a toddler carry her & they will have you

go through the metal detector instead of that sonar thing. I thought at

first the staples would set it off but they don't. Just don't say a thing

& walk right through. We actually had more trouble when we told them

about the cast & they got out the " bomb paper " & swiped all over our sons

cast with it & his hands....yes like someone would have their toddler

handle explosives? Of course this was the 1st cast so he was mad as ever &

didn't want anyone touching him......So best advise just walk right on

through & don't say a word unless you have to.

We´ve been travelling from Montevideo, Uruguay and had to go through Miami, then Dallas to finally reach SLC. It´s our fourth trip and luckily never had a problem. Customs once asked us about ´s cast but didn´t do anything. We just went through the controls and everything was Ok. Don´t worry! There will be no problem just enjoy your deserved vacations!!

We are leaving to SLC this afternoon again :)! Long trip for us!

When we would take Eli through security, they would pat me and him down and they had a test they did on his cast and hands each time. It took a little longer but it was no big deal. On May 10, 2012, at 7:38 AM, na Marturet <mmartu@...> wrote:

Judy,

Are you guys the ones who made the " casted " teddy bears at SLC Shriners?

I think I recognized the name from the tag on the bear? If so that is

such a wonderful thing you did! My son received one on his first cast &

he loves him! In fact we have " casted " subsequent bears to match his

other casts.

Amy, our family went to Disney last year with our daughter Olivia who was three

at the time. She was in a brace but we treat it like the many casts she wore

before hand.

Disney was sooooo accomodating- get a letter from your doctor and Guest Services

will give you a a pass to use to get to front of line access- it makes a big

difference so our little ones don't overheat. You can also get one for your

stroller so it can move wtih you.

Have a fabulous time and remember to ask about their special lounges that you

may be able to access with your guest pass

Our experience w/ Disney and flying was fabulous. Disney was super accommodating and I think we were just lucky with flight staff. I hope others will chime in on this. Its been over 5 yrs since we went to Disney, but I remember they gave us special passes (don’t recall name) and we were able to bypass all lines. Fingers crossed they still do things this way. Try contacting their Guest Services Dept. prior to your trip..Have a great trip! Aly certainly deserves it.HRH From: infantile scoliosis treatment [mailto:infantile scoliosis treatment ] On Behalf Of Amy Barrett-Peiffer, Independent Thirty-One ConsultantSent: Wednesday, May 09, 2012 8:47 PMinfantile scoliosis treatment Subject: Upcoming trip Hello all,We are headed to Florida (Disney!!) on Monday for our first-ever family vacation since Aly's been casted. I am acaully planning a trip with my children to Disney to so I've done some

research and the card you get its called a GAC card you have to go to guest

services for it.You just tell them that because of the cast they cant stand in

long lines do to the extra weight and will tire easy and that standing in the

long lines in the heat isnt good either cause it will make them over heat easier

and if you have any other issues address them to cause if you have sight

problems telll them that to cause youll be able to sit up close during

shows.Give them all the info so that they know the needs of your children so

they can accomidate.Hope that helps.
