Guest guest
Amy, Never had a problem with airport security and Disney has been great. We actually have season passes. What amazes me is how many Disney employees have stopped to to comment on her brace (she is in a brace now) and tell her - and us - how they had were in casts or braces at her age also. Their stories are neat to hear. Guest guest
So interesting to hear everyone's responses on both the airport and dealing with Disney. We flew once while Addie was in a cast, and didn't say anything to airport security. They didn't say anything back to us. We used the metal detectors, and not the body scanners. We've also flown while Addie is in her brace. I just took off her brace before we got to the security line, and placed it in my carry-on. Then, after we went through security (without any issue), I put it back on her (both times in a bathroom, for privacy). As for Disney - we live in Southern California, and have had Annual Passes to Disneyland since before Addie went into her cast. We've never mentioned her cast or brace to anyone there. Never occurred to us to ask for a front of the line pass - I know about them, but we just don't feel the need for one. About the only time her brace has ever been mentioned was when Santa (at Disneyland) was going to lift her onto his lap last year. He looked and me and asked if it was okay to pick her up, after he realized she was wearing a brace. I had slipped my mind that anyone might have a question about it. Of course, I told him it was fine.
