I was wandering how do I tell if he has outgrown his cast already? I had him weighed before we had the cast put on and then shortly after and then yesterday no real weight gain there. However, he has grown taller and the cast at the bottom seems "higher" then before. His stomach is poking out more too. Any advice would be helpful. Guest guest
When is your next cast date? I wouldn't worry too much about it if there isn't too much weight change. My son (in cast 3) always grows taller & we actually look forward to the cast not reaching so low as he is able to bend over more get up unassisted and such. Everytime the new cast goes on its a little shock to have it low again. As long as food intake is normal & there isn't vomit after meals or complaints of pain id stay the course. Guest guest
Thanks Amber and Joy. Our next cast change is not until June 6th. I will keep and I on weight and hope we do not outgrow it! Guest guest
Hi Marina. Welcome to CAST. You can usually tell they've outgrown the cast if they show signs of discomfort and/or begin developing skin issues.. just an fyi...
